Jan 21 is the annual meeting. Looks like so good breakout sessions. I'm coming up and bringing all the key players (free help) to my syrup operation this year. 4 from Sandy Ridge Farm. Who else is coming??

If you are not a member register at the door, and if you want to join the association and preregister go to there web site, not sure it you can pre register if you arent a member

We will be there, the four Battels plus my four kids. I'll be doing a breakout session about the local foods movement as it relates to maple syrup. Bob will give a brief summary of a number of different financial spreadsheets for syrupmakers.

I'll be the one whose kids are tearing up the pool.

I wanted to be there but ended up running tubing this weekend.

Glen did a great job in his talk and in his break out sessions got to meet with him after when he and some others when they went to dinner (we just happened to be at the same restaurant) freindly and very open to help and share what he has found and is doing, the meeting was also informative. We have a change it sounds like in the grading of syrup and the naming of the classifications of that syrup. i would have to get my notes to transfer that to you now but tring to standardize with what other states, provinces are doing and making it more easily racognizable to the public. Dale Forrester pointed out by example of going into a local market and talking to the manager that we as producers should be tring to sell our product to local stores. (the market he went to said they were interested in carring locally produced syrup. much more there but these are couple of things i got out of it

been the same format for the last three years i have been there. hopefully it is better than it was 20yrs ago! I will be there fri eve, it is easier to travel and get a decent nights sleep than getting up early and driving down have a safe trip there and if it is the same and you have suggestions to improve the meeting offer them up have a great day
