Looked at a Sap Brothers RO today. It has 5 vessels 4 inches by 80 + inches so I am assuming each vessel contains 2- 40 inch membranes. Current owner says all pumps were working fine last time it was used (about 7 years ago). I expect new membranes are in order. What membranes would you recommend? What else should we expect as far as maintenance? Anyone have a manual? Any idea of the capacity of this machine? I think it can be purchased right but would like some idea of what we might be getting into before the trigger is pulled.
Thanks for your help.

Doug,
On page two of the old posts in this section, user briansickler had information on an Osmonics 43. His machine has a similiar setup with the doubled up 4x40's. There was a photo of his also. Maybe the two machines are very similiar? Take a peek at his post and compare the two.

I know osmotics made machines for Sap Brothers, The set up is different. All the vessels are upright. I am unsure of the brand of the high pressure pump but it is not a piston pump. I like the idea that not all the membranes/vessels need to be used. Joe at Atlantic had already suggested getting one of the vessels apart and checking out the membranes. Sounds like he suspected that they might be the odd length ones.

Check out member "Parker". He has a Sap Brother with 14 membranes/7 vessels I beleive. And he has a manual that he is sending me a copy of.
The one that I aquired is the smallest one they made called the Eco50 which has only 2 4x40s It was expandable to 6. I do have the original brochure for the Sap Brother which gives specs for all the models, but they don't apply to the membranes of today. From what I read, go with the XLE 4040's. That's what I have in mine and this Spring will be my first test of the unit.
