Thats it you are hooked. I did it the opposite way and tapped a ton before I had a building. I like your way better. It may be bigger than planned but have no fear you will fill it soon and it looks great. With any luck mine will be done this time next year. Have fun in 2012.

Nice job getting it done before the heavy snows arrive. I think we used the same architect, built mine this summer with help from the family and looks similar to yours.

Lapierre 600gph RO

Yes, it looks good. Congratulations on it. I get a little jealous when someone posts something like this. Like Elynch77, we are still outside too, and hope to change that soon. Keep the photos coming. We want to see interior shots with the evaporator installed, and come spring we want to see pics with steam billowing out. Everyone on here likes action shots!

Some boil some before building their shack and some boil a lot before building their own. I did neither one. I've never boiled a drop but just built a 14x14 off the hillside behind the house. I just got done installing the chimney but have a slight alteration to do before I can test burn. Congrats on your new shack. Sounds exciting!

I am building a sugar shack this summer busy getting every thing reading for the construction cutting my own pine and sawing it up on sight my question is i cant afford a cement floor does any one have a shack with a wood floor ? I plan on a 12x16 with 10ft walls with a pressure treated floor frame covered with boards on round cement pads and a tile pad under the barrel stove for hot ambers any input would help

I'm going to have cement eventually but right now it is crushed grey limestone.

It make it easier to clean the floor when it is stone.LOL I would love to have a concrete floor at point. Still might if i decide to mix it myself with the concrete mixer. Lee
