I'm just about done building my sugar shack. Besides scraps of 2x4's and 2x6's - mostly untreated kiln dried stuff, I have plywood, OSB and the t1-11 siding that could all be cut up and burned in my barrel evaporator (cut small of course). Most of it has been kept dry and with a little time and a table saw the siding, plywood, and OSB could be cut to nice size for burning. My question - is there anything to be careful of when burning these - is this a good idea? I thought I could use it up this way instead of hauling it to the dump.

I burn a small amout of plywood scrap now and then. Just mix it in with other wood and you'll be fine.
I would not burn anything with glue in it when I am making food.

The wood works great for making syrup.I even burn it in the house.I bring home a lot of pallets that are made with a weird sort of plywood and end up burning a lot of it. The fire is so hot any glue would be gone in seconds and it is actually deemed safe for humans or we couldn't build houses with it.

I was thinking out of all of them the OSB would have the most glue but I have very little of that. I was concerned about causing problems with the stack or chimney, but it doesn't sound like anyone is reporting problems with that. Thanks for the replies.
