View Full Version : Who is running a 2x6 Max flue on a non leader arch?
Specific I know, just trying to figure out what'll be the most bang for my buck in upgrades. I just don't like running my D&G setup and while I would like to go to a 3x8, ya just can't find them used.
So I was thinking about keeping my arch and swapping out the pans, trade in, is actually pretty good on small arches.

Your best bet would be keep what you have and buy a small RO. That is the biggest bang for the buck.

Dill-
I will second Thad's suggestion- a RO is by far the best bang for your buck.
Here are my numbers-
2.5x8 grimm wood fired. Can do 50-60gph.
If I went with a MAX pan alone which I think Leader wants around $5500 for, it would gain me 30 or so more GPH. so spend $5500 and my total sap per hour process rate is 80-90gph.
I added an old 500 gph RO that with all rebuilding and insulating a room cost me $4800 and my process rate is now 550-560gph.
You could get a 150 gph or 300gph RO in good shape for $5000-6000 and be way ahead of the game.
Perhaps Russ Lampron can share his numbers with you as he has a 2x6 and a 150gph RO.
