View Full Version : Easy Maple Pie
Just be careful wicked sweet. It comes out much like a pecan pie, without the nuts of course
2 cups dark maple syrup
1 cup heavy cream
3 eggs
2 Tbs. flour
blend well pour in a pie shell, bake until it rises and starts to crack. A little over an hour or so at 350.
And that's it seriously. And it makes your oven smell awesome.
sounds awesome. I will definatly try it

Is this the pie you were talking about over the weekend?
Thanks
Yup, figured I'd post it here so it'll get made for Christmas. It would a great thing to have on hand for open house weekend cause it takes a bunch of syrup.

Gave my better half the recipe. She'll cook it up for New Years.
Looking forward to a real treat.
My grandmother used to make "tarte au suc". Haven't had it in many yeas. Hopefully this is a similar recipe.

My wife made two pies last night... must say - AWESOME and yes, very sweet and maplely!! Thanks.
Just got another similar recipe from a relative in VT. I haven't made it yet, but I'm planning to see if the 2/3 cup of sugar can be replaced by splenda. Those of us Diabetic sugarmakers have to cut back in some places ya know.
Maple Walnut Pie
1 1/4 c maple syrup
2/3 c sugar
2 T butter
3 eggs
1 c chopped walnuts
heat oven to 375. Line pie pan with prepared pie crust dough. Beat listed ingredients, except walnuts, with hand beater. Stir in walnuts. Pour into pastry lined pie plate. Bake approx 45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. Serve with unsweetened whipped cream

My mouth has been watering at the thought of this since I first read it. I'm not really a baker, but I think this recipe is within my reach and I'm going to try it over the holidays. Dumb Question Alert: Does it matter what kind of pie crust you use? I picked up a graham cracker crust not really thinking that they came in different flavors. Is there a certain kind of pie crust that this recipe is better for?
Sean
Not sure about the graham cracker crust, I'm don't think it would hold up to the baking process.
But don't worry, use that one for banana cream pie and really shock the family with 2 pies.
