Does any ny producers know of a place to sell bulk to? I know Bascom's is a option but, was looking for a place in ny. I've put a few pm out to ask but have not heard anything back yet. Not to many producers in my neck of the woods. I'm the largest in the area for about 50 miles and would like to sell some in 2012 i help upgrade some equipment like new pans and so on. thanks in advance cpmaple

Try Parker's Maple in West Chazy, NY. I am fairly positive he buys bulk syrup.

We will buy your bulk syrup. We pay a fair price and we grade, way, and pay on the spot so you know what you are getting before the syrup leaves ny.
Thanks, Michael Parker

iM A small producer in upstate NY. for 2011 Im considering selling most of my 100 or so gallons bulk this year as we are having trouble breaking into this crowded market. can anyone advise on the proper way to deliver the syrup to the bulk buyers. I assume they test brix ?

Most will buy it by the pound, packed in 5 gal or larger containers. Whenever I sold bulk it was density checked and graded (and tasted), weighed and then paid. I have not heard of any that will buy smaller containers. You should get your containers back, or equals.

Thats the plan for us, just picked up some drums from Mike Parker the other day. Quite a setup they have, good, hardworking, honest people that have come a heck of a long way in the maple industry. They won't steer you wrong.

Adk1, Mike and his dad (Earl) tapped 30,000 in 2011 (stated in his signature in this thread). I am quite sure they'll be well over that this year, how much, I don't know. Mike say's they just purchased 2 new 100 acre parcels to hang line in over the near future...a significant addition to the operation. Doubt they'll have it all set up this year...they are very motivated.
