I am having a four section pan made for my half pint and I am tinkering with the idea of putting some drop tubes in the center two sections. They will be 1 1/4" in diameter and I haven't decided how long yet. Will this affect the flow in the pan? Do you guys see any problems with this?

I have a modified half pint as well. What I did was extend the arch 5' and drilled 90 holes in a pattern 6.5''long x7/8''od. Heres where i'm going with this. I got conciderable warping. It still worked great and I wasn't to worried because it wasn't the syrup pan. It increased the boil rate 6 fold. I'd do it again before I would modify the syrup pan. I don't think you would have as much warping due to the dividers but, concider how the dividers are soldered in. If its soft solder you probbally need to you soft on the tubes. I used silver solder because my pan is welded. Good luck.
