This is my 2nd season useing a W B Mason 2x3 evaporator. Because the space I use to boil in also doubles as storage space for my ATV the other 11 months a year I have to be able to move evaporator after season ends, thus I dry brick the side walls. My question is this once I have put all the bricks in I have a space of about 1 to 1.5 inches between the rails that the pan sits on and the top of the last brick. Is it ok to leave that space not bricked or would it be better to brick that or use a piece of gasket material to fill that void?

I just cut bricks down to fill that space. You can cut them very nicely with a wet saw or rather roughly with a hammer and brick chisel. Rob

Take some ceramic blanket and stuff it in the holes tight and it will help to hold the brick in place also. :)
