Is there anyway that you can get a burn out of the bottom of the pan?

I've had really good luck using water and fine grit wet/dry sandpaper. Start at 400 grit and work on up until the burn is gone and your pan is polished to your liking. Time consuming, but it works really welll and you'll have plenty of time to think about how you won't be burning your pan ever again....until next year.

It's pretty much the same a what you get in an oven. Easy Off oven cleaner will do it inside or on the smoke on the bottom.
Spray it on a warm pan and let it soak for an hour. Hit it with a pressure washer and repeat until it's gone.

Phosphorice acid and elbow grease works good, also vinegar and baking soda.If at all possible avoid making any scratches, especially deep ones as this is where nitre will adhere to and scorch your pans again.
