Does any one ever put just a few tap on the dry line of a wet/dry line or do you always put another manifold and main line from the wet/dry for the couple taps? We have places in our woods that we were debating on putting about 5 to 15 taps on the dry line, for that many taps I don't think it is worth the money to put an extra main in coming off of the w/d, But at the same time I don't want to defeat the purpose of the wet/dry because I want maximum vac to each tap.

What's your thoughts?

Thanks, Sam

I have a couple short sections of lateral 3/4" main line that have 6-12 taps on them. In my opinion it is worth limiting the number of connections in your main wet/dry lines even if it is more convenient to put 5/16 laterals directly to them. Also, the cost of the fittings and pipe will surely be made up by the syrup production over time.
