I was just informed that Jim has passed away. This happened on Tuesday in his sugarwoods. He was stringing tubing and was hit by a tree. The funeral is in Charlotte on Monday at 3:00. He was a very good guy and always fun to talk with he will be sorely missed by all.

My condolences to his family.

I was up to highland on Monday to see Jim. He took me out to the bottling section of his warehouse to show me his new machine that was getting ready to go on line for the first time. He was very excited to get to show me. He was a very nice man. He was a very important to our industry. My prayers are with his family.

Jim and I have worked together many times buying syrup and other projects. He wasn't only good to his business clients, employees and friends, he was a devoted husband and father and believed in his family I will miss him as both a friend and a fellow sugarmaker. My condolences to his family.

May you rest in peace my friend.
