It took a couple of years and some looking but I found a way to get the valve of my milk tank to pipe thread for under $5 and food grade. I took apart a 1¼ inch PVC coupling and used one of the half’s. I did not have to use any special tools just stuff any one has in there work shop. If interested see pictures

1. Buy 1.25 in. PVC coupling
2. Take apart coupling use small side throw away 2 other pieces
2. File down 1/16 grip ridges on outside of saved piece
3. File down outside diameter of flange 1/8 in. smaller
4. Install a milk line gasket
5. Install resized PVC coupling
6. Done in 20 min.

I like it- have you tried it holding a full tank of water?

I like the simplicity of it...thanks for the photos and details.

i had a tank with that same style valve, there is enough meat in the valve body that you can remove the spool and cut away 2/3 of the valve and machine it round and just cut pipe threads on it, then just screw on a ball valve
