I tapped on the 22nd and 23rd. Caught a good run too.

Boiled it off today and ended up with 1.25 gallons.

Would have had more but there was a malfuction with the filter... again.
Only burnt two fingers. :?

I finished tapping today. Now its time to boil. It would be nice to boil every day for a month. That would sure burn me out.

I got 100 out yesterday & 200 more today, its starting to run a little. Wind was cold tho. I don't think I'll put the main lines into the tank till tomorrow afternoon. As I don't have the pans set up yet, need moma to help turn them over and set the hood on.

I got 180 gals today, boiling as we speak wondering how many gals I'll have to run through it before I get a draw off. 8O

Jim,

I can usually draw after 140 or 150 on my 2x8, but it only takes me about 20 to fill it to 1". :?

I've got maybe 40 more minutes of boiling left tonight, with around 1.5-2 gals drawn off... nice light tasty syrup, sure is nice to be back boiling another year !! :D

Been boiling steady for a couple of days now. Finished about three and a half gallons of light so far. It sure does taste good. Almost makes me take back the poor things I said two weeks ago when I was soaking wet and freezing while I was washing buckets.

Well the weather looks decent and I'm hoping the run picks up a bit more.

Good luck everyone

Started to boil tonight, still didn't run that good for me got about another 1/2 gal per tap today. Last year My first day of boiling was March 8th so all Ican hope for is a good month of weather now.
I wonder if the warm temps this week end will drop my grade to medium?

Finally got the pans sweet today, will be able to make some light amber tomorrow. Finally got the arch figured out, it needs slabwood to boil hot. Using split round wood won't do it. And the seminar at the Ma. maple meeting really helped.

Thursday was great for me I got well over a gal per tap. I was suprised as to how much ran today also as it seemed colder than yesterday. Looks like I'll boil tommorrow to boil what ran today. Certainly doesn't look like it will run tommorrow.
