I am looking to upgrade from my 2x4 flat pans setup. I have found a couple 2x4 setups with drop flues, how much of an improvement will this be over my flat pan setup? Will it be worth it or should I just bite the bullet and go to a 2x6 setup? Obviously the 2x4 is a little cheaper, but I dont want to have to update again for a couple years :)
Thanks
Tyler

a bigger set will still burn the same amount of wood and reduce your time in the sugar shack ..... filtering .... bottling .... collecting time goes up.

Measure the surface area of all the stainless that's in the fire for the 4' and the 6'. There is not quite a 1:1 ratio with the rate of boil, but it's close.

Just to save the time, I'd step right up to the 6' rig.
2 cents.

I'd definitely go with the 2x6.
