Anyone have experience with 1/2 vs. 3/4 tubing used for dump bucket system ? Buckets are 5 gallon, figure I collect 5 gallons from the nearby tree buckets and dump into it. Question is will it drain fast enough ? I'm sure there is a fluid dynamics/flow rate physics question in this:D, but if someone has done I would love to hear your feedback. 1/2 mainline is a bit cheaper and easier to string so if I can use it I would love to !!! :D I ;could also go to a bigger dump bucket if needed...

Don't use 1/2 ". Not enough diameter for what you want to do. In my system, with good slope, a 1" main with 3/4" lateral mains drains well enough. All 1" would be ideal.
