is it better to have 400 taps run to a releaser and tank and pump to the sugarhouse 150' away, with the sugarhouse 6' higher than releaser or would it be better to build multiple sap ladders where the releaser would be?

One way is cheaper and less labor intensive:) Then you have the cost of the pump gas and daily trips to pump out.

my sugarhouse, house, and releaser/sap ladder are at the same location so last year i used an electric sump pump, but the pump line was always full of sap when it got done pumping.i was wondering how much i would lose as far as inches of vac.and sap production with 7 sap ladders.i thought it would be nice to have my releaser in the sugarhouse this year.

I say go with the ladders and releaser in the shack.

Never kept records to know year to year what my sections of the bush do. I went from a gravity section to vacuum and releaser and then because of the problems with the road I went to ladders. Every time I change the woods I think it improves.
