I have a Beckett oil burner fan and the unit would fire about 1 gallon an hour of oil. I am wondering what is the cfm it puts out? The motor is 1/7 hp and spins at about 3450 rpm.

Yeah I used one on my barrel evaporator last year and it realy got that thing hot. But, I just want to know how it compares to other forced draft units.

and I used a good old house fan in front of the ash pan door. REALLY HELPED alot! I may need to upgrade to a real blower this year tho'

Same thing here. I had a window fan blowing on mine. Burned alot of wood, but heated fast, and cut boiling time down.:D

from what I have read you want a high pressure fan/blower not a high volume blower

Oh ok. Well, does anybody know the pressure that it puts out?

Jec, used an oil burner blower on my first evaporator last year and it worked awesome. Threw a rheostat on it but after using it for a season didn’t need to. Ran it on full the whole time. AOF and AUF worked great and really upped the evap rate. For a small rig it did great. But, like most of us, outgrew it quick. And like Flat Lander Sugaring indicated, you want high-pressure not high volume. Turbulence is key. Good luck!
