Hi everyone,
What do you think about the wayne ss pump. Is it food grade? Will it do for pumping sap from storage container to storage container?
Tell me what you think,
Joey

well any pump should pump from one tank to another. Now are the tanks at the same level? If not what are the elevation differances. What is the distance from tank to tank? Will the pump be leftoutside at night during freezing temps. If so does it have drains you can pull to drain. Will power br closes so you dont run to many feet of cords? Is it big enough to get the job done in a resonable amount of time? But Yes it should work.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it. I used a standard Goulds for years to keep my head tank full.

Well, the head and suction lift will work for my set up but, i am wondering if it is somewhat like a gould pump.

The goulds i used was just a shallow well J5S, probably similar to your wayne, unless you just have a centrifugal without jet.

It doesn't have a jet, but it can get 40 psi or so. It does 720 gph.

Yeah thats the same one. I will probably be buying one to pump from my holding tank to head tank.

Yeah mine does alot. I have this thing I call a SDS (Sap Delivery System). I made it and it is a series of pvc pipes that all connect to the pump. The SDS lets me empty the sap from collecting and pump it into any barrel. Then, I can suck from one of the barrels to my head tank. So, the pump will be used for a lot of things.
