A quick question regarding how best to end a 1" main line. Should I use a plug and saddles, or a 90 degree elbow with a star (to transition to the end of line 5/16" lateralls)?

By end I am assuming you mean the beginning where it starts in the woods yes? I put a ball valve on it so I can close it off. I also have a fitting on the end of the ball valve to put a vac guage on it when I want to check vac levels there. It also allows me to stick a water hose on there and flush the mainline out without having to pull a plug.

I used to have a mainline elbow with a star fitting on the end of each mainline,I changed them all last year to a ball valve, makes for a lot easier and much better job cleaning up at the end of the season as the mainline flushes out much faster then it did going through the small laterals.

I also use ball valves.
