I see this sight level available at maple dealers (and lot cheaper at the hardware store). I've never used this kind. Does anyone like using this one? How far can you see with it? Is it accurate?

I have used that type or one simular. The bottom line is when in flat areas it helps keep your pitch. Steeper areas I just hold the same height off the ground.

I used that type for 7 years. buy online, google and compare prices. I have 3 and they all cost far less than maple dealers charge. If I remember I got 2 from Ace Hardware.
I now use a clinometer, much more costly but far more precise if you need to keep a uniform pitch across a section with little rise. If you have a fairly good slope, use the cheaper kind and if you have a good slope you don't need one at all.

Thanks for all the feedback. I picked one up yesterday at Ace and I think it will work out. I don't have much tubing to run, but the mainline (gravity) has to travel over a gradual slope with some high and low spots. The laterals all have a very good slope.

I don't want to knock the suppliers too hard, but charging almost double for this level? Even if they charged 50% more than what Ace charges, I'd be more likely to throw it in with a big order, but double? Too much.

Thanks again,
Sean
