Has anyone used or know much about Fruitland pumps. I have a chance to purchase a new RFC 1200.

wow sounds like the pumps they use on the sewage or hazardous waste vac trucks, they usualy seem to put a pretty good load on a truck engine when driven by a pto, so i would guess a decent sized diesel or gas engine would be needed, altho should be good for thousands of taps! how many taps you planning to run on this?

I'm looking at 10,000 to 14000 taps when its all said and done. Would this be to much pump?

Looks like about 5 times what you need ! 37 HP doesn't come cheap , and if you are powering it with an Internal Combustion Engine you want to add another 25% to that . So you would need a 45 HP Engine . That's alot of overkill !

Besides that. For such a large system you might want to consider a bank of pumps, 3,4,5 or so. If one goes down you can still use system until repairs or replacement. That sure sounds like far more pump than would be practical.

If you go to their web site it shows what the pump is used for.That is a huge pump as I can pick up the pump for a vacuum truck almost by myself.Almost LOL. At least it's made in Canada and painted blue.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll go with several smaller pumps. The price was right at $1500. but the thing was heavy at 1400#s.

With that many taps buying something because it is cheap is probably not the best idea. Go with the proven and reliable high vacuum 2 stage pumps. Nash or Kinney would be my selection. They get the high vacuum and are very reliable.
