Wondering if anyone out there uses a Allis G to collect sap? I'd like to get one, as I think they would be perfect for collecting from my pails. The polaris 6x6 is getting tired. ( Don't tell my wife but I would like one just, to have one.)

I have one, though I never thought about using it to collect sap. If your 6X6 has a bench seat it sure would ride better plus you could bring along some help. With the G your by yourself unles your help rides on the trailer. A trailer behind a small tractor is not as handy as your 6X6. Also I'm not sure how comfortable and safe it would be on the G with your coveralls and other loose clothing just hanging around for every limb and stick to get caught in, maybe your woods are cleaner than mine.

I had a G for years. It was helpless in snow. If you try one you certainly need chains. You should be able to mount a small tank on the frame but the front tires are so small you could not carry much weight, and pulling a trailer in snow would be hard if not impossible. They are however a very good cultivating tractor and in dry conditions are fun to drive.

Nice tractor but it might be time to sell it. I bought mine in '91 for $1200 with a bunch of attachments, used it to sickel mow and cultivate for several years, then I sold it for $3500 with only the cultivator. I sold the other attachments seperately and scrapped a fert. spreader that was far gone.
Now I cultivate with a weed badger www.weedbadger.com.
I would get the 6x6 fixed if I were you. AC G's were not maded to operate in the woods, only in nice open fields.

We used to have one. In the woods in the spring, pulling a trailer with sap--no way
Won't pull the hat off your head.
They are strickly a garden tractor and very good for the intended purpose.
