When you break into the 60 to 70 cc range then you are getting into the big boys lol. Nice saw though. 49cc 3.1 hp 12500 rpms should be a cutting machine. Just dont forget to run nothing but high octane through it.

Congrats on the new saw Chumlee. Just bought a Stihl MS290 Farm Boss myself. It's always nice to upgrade once in awhile.

thanks guys, it actually scares me a little, right on the brochure it says nothing under 90 octane to be used. moving up from a husq 142 to this is gonna be a jump and a half:D

The cs2159c is 59cc 4.1 hp @13500 rpms.

The 2159/359 has no torque its a rpm horsepower saw like its sister the 2156/357 3/8 chain is ok on a 16" bar but .325 chain on a 18" or a 20" will actually cut faster than the same saw equipped with 3/8 chain. .325 chain has more cutters per foot than 3/8 ( .375) narrower kerf chain allows saws with more hp less torque to cut faster just my experience of working with and selling these saws for years.

i had jonsareds for years they are great upper end homeowner saws, just not an everyday loggers saw,i bought a new husky 395xp with a 36" bar 3yrs ago ill never again buy anything but husky or dolmar.i will say that the best saw to buy is one you can get service and parts for locally.

They say they no longer sell Jonsered saws in Canada now. It's all Husky now.I have a 2163 and it works great untill the muffler dropped off.I have to get the bottom of the studs out of the block now and try and buy new studs to remount the muffler.Tried to run it with no muffler but even being deaf it was way to loud.

Dont run it without the muffler Ken. Not only will you catch the woods on fire and go deaf you might kill the saw. Sounds like you need a set of easy-outs. Find the size that fits match it up with the drill bit size stamped on the side and drill straight and true, stick the easy out in and extract the stud.

If you cannot find muffler bolts give me the size and model number and I should be able to get them here for you. If I send them in the mail there should not be a duty on them. We still have dealers around here thatg sell Jonsered

xyz5150,

I used .375 on my Stihl ms361 (59 cc, 4.6HP@15000rpm), and yes, i have a 16" bar on it, but friends whit same saw around used whit 20" bar without problem, of course if we cut soft to medium woods. (no red oak around here) Me, i dont like the.325 chain because too narrow kerf.

Now you have it made. With two saws you can buy more now as you just say the two mated and this was the offspring.Works with guns rather well.Woman actually believe that story I have found.

Not a fan of the 9mm at all. Our police depts decided the same. Good plinking round but lacks knockdown power. Stood side by side a sheriff by my house 3 nights last summer, 1st night doe gets hit by a car he comes to dispatch the thing. After 6 shots to the head he asked me if I had anything better to put this animal down so I got the TCC 30.06 out, now thats a handgun lol. 2nd time after 4 shots he looked at me and I said I will be right back, 3rd time he didnt even have to ask or use any bullets lol. True story and kinda sad as well.

Um, I thuoght that my saw was a little on the small side until I read this post????

Husky 3120, I think 118cc, 8.4 hp with a 48" blade. Makes quick work chopping wood, but my arms are a little sore after an hour.

Yep, revamping my little 2x3 arch to a 2x6 this summer, in case you noticed what I have the saw sitting on.

ya know I got a husk with an 18 inch blade and if the saw is no big enough to cut it down I don't need to be cutting the tree. I can't imagine useing a 36 or 48 blade hell I got no trees that big to start with lol

At one time I had a commercial picture of a California Redwood Maintenance Crew and they were sporting some of those super long bars and chains for their work - You would have to work with the Giant Trees to have much use for them I would think --- LOL---- Less you want to cut a face cord with one stroke ....

When I moved to Quebec I bought a Sthil back west to save taxs.Told the guy I needed to cut firewood so I ended up with the smallest Sthil they make. I get here and am looking at these trees I have to cut and thinking wow I have to cut from both sides to meet in the middle.Took me two days to get my first tree down and then I ended up buying a bigger saw.
