http://evaporateursjeanfaucher.com/Produits/produits.htm I find it quite amazing that this company has been in business for 3 generations and yet this is the first time I have seen them mentioned on the trader or have ever heard of them before. The evaporator looks pretty slick and there are some similar design in his arch that I see in another guys evaporators fromt the same area in saint marie. Interesting.

I have heard that the secret to the "excellent" Maine syrup was that they used fresh scent kitty litter as their DE.

And they use the empty unwashed kitty litter buckets to collect their sap.

When a Michiganian gets old enough he takes off his diaper and filters syrup with it.

I agree... looks good but where the heck did this company come from? With months of searching I spent collecting links for www.Sugarbush.Info I never ran across their site or even the name of the company. It is quite possible the web site is fairly new so I wouldn't have known about them but surely at least the company name would be listed in Google, Yahoo, or Bing results 6 months ago if they have been around for 3 generations. A good deal is a good deal and fortunately there are not a lot of moving parts in an evaporator to create warranty issues later on.

So Bryan you think I got a good deal at 1750?

Can I ask you this? Are you happy with the price? Are you happy with the evaporator? If so then you got yourself a good deal. Without seeing it and giving it a good inspection I think only you truly can decide if its a good deal or not. Lots of times a good deal is all about the demand the consumer has and sometimes a deal is so good you just have to buy it and then it sits in the corner of the garage for 10 years and one day when you trip over it for the 100th time you think for a second man I got ripped off I didnt even need that thing lol.

I do. Bill Mason sells his 2 x 4 flat pan evap for about $1200 and D&G lists their 18 x 60 drop flue at $3100 locally. Providing the fit and finish is what you expect when it shows up I think you're bucks up from your purchase.
