I've heard candy will get 6-8 months with the crystal soak coating. What about the peanuts, cashews, and pecans? How long will these keep without a coating? A crystal coating on the nuts doesn't seem necessary.

I don't know at what point but I had some coated walnuts that were about a yr old and they tasted a little rancid to me. the key to them is don't make to much at once. They are easier to make than candy and cream so keep the inventory low and you won't have any go bad

I wish I could answer this for one leg but I have never had a batch no matter how big or small last for a few days in this house.

Some nuts live longer then others. Take Haynes for example.

when I coat nuts , I put them in an oven at 150deg for 2 hrs. This will extend the shelf life for some time. I do not know how long though as the are not around long enough to find out.

I have kept some two months with good results. The main thing I see happening is that the syrup coating gradually goes to just sugar.
