We just used our new 5" filter press from Daryl. It is such a slick piece of machinery. It was very easy to set up and use. The product it produces is crystal clear. This is an excellent rig for the small producer. I think we'll be able to pay for it by not losing all that syrup in the cone filters and prefilters. I don't think we will miss cleaning those filters every night either. We did have a couple questions, we just called Daryl and he kindly answered them. If anyone is on the fence about buying a press this is the one for you.

The quality is great. We were amazed with the difference between our old filtering and Daryl's filter press. The syrup from his press is spectacular! Hopefully the photos come thru.

Where are 5 x 5 filters available or do you cut down larger ones? My concern is sourcing the filters in Canada but otherwise I'm interested for 2012. Now if only I could find an RO, stainless bulk tank, and sugar shack for under $1000 I'd be set. :D

Daryl makes filter papers for the 5" presses.

I also checked and found that CDL/Maple Pro makes papers for the 5" press. I just wanted to know where to get some if I was in a pinch.

But I would give Daryl call if you need more.

I bought 5" filter papers from CDL last year. Catalog said 400 for $33.00. When I received the order there were only 200. Called CDL and they said it was a misprint in the catalog. I see them again in this years catalog. CHECK PRICING AND QUANTITY before you order.

Buying filters for your press is like buying toilet paper...............:rolleyes:.Get plenty you will always use it and its a bitch to run out
