I have a quart of Leader pan cleaner, on the label it says not recommended for the flue pan, does anyone know why? Any information will be helpful, thank you.

I think they're just covering themselves. I've been told you have to use it in the flue pan, if you want it good and clean. So I have done it, but not for awhile. Usually I do the soak with water for a month method. But I may use acid before next season to get it even cleaner. And perhaps during the season next year.

We use the pan cleaner in our stainless flue pan. We set them out in the sun and fill them as full as possible with water and let them soak for a couple weeks. After soaking, I neutralize the acid with baking soda, then a final wash out with a pressure washer. Several people I know use white vinegar.
