Good meeting yesterday. Thanks to all who organized it. The guest speaker from Leader (Bruce Gillian??) was good and I learned a few things which should help some of the issues I was having. Also the research center topic was very interesting.

The research center is Hubbard Brook which is a 8000 acre private forest. Years ago they clearcut patches of forest high up on the mountains and put in water monitoring devises. N ot only do they monitor rain fall but what comes out of those forests in the streams. How much does the forest use when it rains, how much runs off, how much is retained in the forest. Does fertilizing help the growth of hardwoods/ how much ends up in the water.

Ah....that research center. Know it quite well and have participated in some studies and some meetings there.
