Anything wood within 3 feet would probably burst into flames!

I would be a little more freaked out about the head sitting on the corner of my pans than that stack glowing. Seen many stacks in my day look like that but never a head on the pans with no body attached to it.

Looks like my stack after this season.I just put brand new ss stack on at the beginning of the season nice and shinny now it looks like barney the dinosaur(purple)
I went to bascolm,s this past weekend and spoke to a leader rep that was there about the stack being purple with the blower on high and wondered if i was wasting heat up the stack or if i should slow the blower and mabe maximize the heat and he said run it as hot as I can get it They were running a stack temp about 900 degrees on the evap they were showing w/ steamaway Hell I must have been closer to 1200 degrees

unclebuck Do you have a restictor screen on the stack to create back pressure.

This is what 1,900 degrees looks like.

With my Leader stainless stack and when the stack thermometer has hit 1800 degrees about 4' up the stack I don't see any change in color of the stack.

Would a piece of air duct from home depot work for a stack or does it actually need to be a stove pipe? This would be for a 2 X 3 Mason.
