Hmmm...
How about this for a CFM tester.
(1) Needle Valve
(1) Vacuum Gage
(1) 1/4" NPT female Tee
(1) 3' section of vacuum hose
(1) 33 gallon (approx 4.5 cu ft) garbage bag
(1) stout rubber band
(1) stopwatch
Ok, connect the vacuum gage to the top of the tee, needle valve to one side of the tee, and vacuum pump to another (connected to a short section of hose).
Start up the vacuum pump and ajust the needle valve so that you get a consistent reading at 15", 20" or whatever vacuum level where you want the CFM's.
Shut the pump back off.
Connect the completely deflated garbage bag to the exhaust port pipe nipple and secure with the rubber band.
Start the pump while starting the stopwatch. When the garbage bag inflates and pops off the pipe nipple, hit the stopwatch again.
You now have time and Cubic Feet. There you go, CFM's...

Ok, Kevin...where the blast of my idea...I can feel it coming.
Why won't this work like any other pump where volume in = volume out.
Here's the pitch....knock it out of the park!!!

Hey Kevin, maybe a hydraulic flow rater or an old water meter would work. Is either one available to you to try?
