I can't help but wonder if it's possible to make a pan out of sheet metal and have it coated with porcelain like a canning pot or a roaster? I doubt it's anything I would do because I use stainless and have more stainless incase I decide to upgrade, but the BUG has my mind always thinking!
Any thoughts on this?

The metal has to be heavy to not flex to much and a ding is a rust hole. Plus I think coating such as glass with different heat coefficients of metal will tend to crack and pop off under the hot and cold changes. Just throw some hot sap in the pan to cool it and watch the glass fly.
