My neighbor is pulling up a bunch of oak strip flooring. It's a perfect size of hardwood to throw in fire and I jumped at the chance to take it. I figured the polyurethane on it is so minute that it won't be a hazard, but now I'm wondering. This won't gum things up in the arch or stack will it?

I've burned a bunch of old hardwood flooring in my evap. Never had a problem, probably since it burns so hot

I burned a bunch in an old "franklin stove" back in the 70's. Too hot, started a chimney fire, had to call fire dept. But, in an evaporator that would not be a problem, you never get any creosote build up in an evaporator. Go for it, unless you find that the finish would create a hazardous pollution. I do not know that one.

Canty be as bad as burning roof sections with the shingles still on them. Or feed bags full of old sap lines and mainlines:o

It's all about btu's, more btu's. If it burns it adds heat, more btu's
