I tried it for the first time yesterday. I got a 34% mix which is food grade from Wausau Chemical. We then diluted it to 5%. Use rubber gloves because if you get it on your skin it burns!! Found that out the hard way. I started pulling taps yesterday with the vacuum on starting on the end of the laterals and working my way to the mainlines. I just sucked a quick squirt up the tap and drop. There were mold spots in the drops and they shot right out of the drops. I pulled over 400 taps last night and only used 2 gallons of the mix. A producer in Antigo told me about it and he has been doing it for years with good results.

I use it, have for years. I use 35% food grade at 1 oz per 2 gal water. It works great. It is risky using medical grade because that has chemicals in it to preserve the solution, and the % is far lower, it actually ends up costing more. Yes it will burn your skin, but you do not need to rinse the tubing because any residue quickly breaks down into oxygen and water. I bought my first gal online from california several years ago for %35 + shipping. Then I bought a 15 gal bbl for $12/gal.
It will keep as long as it lasts if I keep sun from getting to it. If you use it, keep it in a dark colored jug and then store it in a closed cardboard box. My BBL is black and never sees the sun.
The main benifit is that there is no residue for tree rats to smell.
