filter press

This is my first year with a filter press and cleaning it up I was thinking about the syrup or sap in the pump. How do you all clean out the pump and store for next year? Do you do anything special to the unit? Thanks

I just run hot water thru it when running and the hang all the hoses down and run the pump dry for 5 seconds and store it. I dint put it all together again until next season only because I put it in the attic at the sap shack.

I get very hot water and run it through the press, a couple or more gallons. Then I tip the unit so any water will drain out. Probably not need 'cause it will set till next spring, but I'm a belt and suspenders type of guy.
