I borrowed my brother's GoPro HD camera and set it up for one frame every 2 seconds.

This video is very enlightening for us. You can tell when we aren't paying attention and the rate falls off. Also, near the beginning you can see where we started up with no gradient and almost burnt up the middle channel of the syrup pan! Watch in 720 or 1080p if you have a good broadband connection!

Dennis: During that part of the day, we were obviously distracted by the crowds! With the new Air over Fire system, and the lack of diligence we did not use too much fuel ( though there is a cart of wood on the far side of the evaporator. We were cooking at about 35 GPH during that period.

Later that night when there were only two of us there, we put the hammer down and burned a lot more wood and averaged over 50gph!

Okay so that looks like the pace I was running around at all sugaring season. Now if I can only get my rig to boil as fast as I was working like that video. lol That was pretty cool to watch.

In real life it feels like the visitors are keeping us running around like that too!

But I wouldn't have it any other way.

I felt the same way at sometimes during the season. I always seem to loose a few pounds during the season, from the constant runnng!!!

Nice to watch though thanks for posting it.

Very observant!

Actually, the guy in the white Jets sweatshirt ( I don't really understand that in Vikings land) is a home brewer and he brought some around. And he went home with 5 gallons of sweet to make some maple beer as an experiment.
