So other than washing it in hot bleachly water is there anything that I should do?
Its a hobby 500.

That's all I do.
When you break it out for the season, give the float rod a quick scrub and lubricate where you're supposed to.

lub all your gaskets to keep them from dying and cracking. Along with the wash. Keith

Because we run high vacuum, we send our releasers back to the manufacturer every year or two for inspection and refurbishment. Seems to help keep them (mostly) running smoothly.

Because of the longer off and on again weather my releaser's got really black and cruddy with mold at the end. I might need to start to power wash things.

I pressure wash it every year and it still looks & works great at 9 years old. The best thing I learned is to use the proper lubricant from the manufacturer. I used different things before like vegetable oil thinking there wouldn't be a difference and there really is. Since I bought the right stuff it's been flawless...
