Does anyone have any experiance with these? How well do they work? Do they need to be kept heated? I'm considering one for a woods I'm looking at. The low spot is ~2500' from the house and unless the neighbor is on board, it would require pumping the sap back 2500' to the house. I'm looking at this as an option, so it'd constantly pump sap back to the house, allowing me to just collect sap from the house and not walking into the woods to pump it back up w/ a gas powered pump.

Thanks

Josh,
The suck CFM's. Takes an additional 10 CFM from your pump to run it and you will have to heat it or drain it if it is going to freeze hard. I have a single that I have outgrown if you choose to go that route.

I don't mind losing the CFM's...I'll just buy a larger vac. pump. Keeping it heated would be a problem since it'll be in the middle of the woods. Were you happy with it and could it pump ~2500' horizontal and ~50' vertical?

i watched it work and the guy over seeing it spent alot of time tinkering with it as i talked to the bush pump rep.

I wish I'd known they had one on display because I would've checked it out. I would need something low maintenance because I work during the day and can't be spending too much time futzing with equipment.

i have one that i have used five years and it pumps from my releaser to my storage shed 45' straight up and 1200 feet to the tank. it used to pump over 2000' to the sugar house but we have made improvements that have shortened the distance. It works really well you just have to know how to install, maintain, and use them. freezing is an issue. we built a small shed that houses the pump, a small dump tank and the releaser. it's well isulated and we heat it with a little oil lamp. pump has never froze.

I agree with Jason. Pump works well and I was pumping over 2000 feet. I did not have much head though. It took some tinkering to get it going at first but I had no idea how to set it up etc. Once it was operating correctly, it worked well with little additional attention. My issue with it now is that I have too many taps for it to keep up with (4500). One of the larger, double ones would probably work now.
