i've been around an old sugaring operation that went back generations.they used about 800 buckets and boiled in a 60"x118"galvanized pan.they told me any tree that you cant wrap youre arms around get 4 buckets and the smaller ones get three and all buckets on a tree are to be placed at different heights and each is to get two taps.is this like an old standard or is this over tapping, ive been out of sugaring for about 20yrs(since the last sugarer in family passed)im going back into it next yr and was just wondering if this is proper.

I would never put more than 2 in my own trees no matter how large they are.
