mounting membranes horizontaly?

is there anything good or bad about doing this? do i need to operate them any different if it do mount them horizontaly

It won't make any difference operationally. It's just harder to drain them completely if they are horizontal. Large commercial RO systems for water treatment couple several membranes together in long vessels and horizontal is the only way to do it.

draining is just a concern for summer storage? i mean i gota keep the ro room heated in the season anyhow so does that matter realy?

If the housing is a side port, you will want the ports up while in operation to allow air to escape, and you will want them down when you are trying to drain them.

ahh ok, sounds like i better just go with vertical mounting then and keep it simple!
