Someone told me there is a coating you can get to go over solder
that you suspect might be lead.I have used the same equipment
for years and don't sell it , but still have concerns. Has anyone ever
heard of it?Thanks.

The coating is called 'sugar sand', don't clean your pan and the lead will be covered.

You can get the necessary testing supplies at a hardware store. If your pans do have lead in them don't use any acid cleaners. As WF Mason said leave a coating of sugar sand on the lead solder. That helps keep the lead from leaching into the syrup.
You can get your syrup tested for lead. I would assume you could take a sample to a lab. I had mine tested a few years ago, it was done through my state association so I only had to provide a sample and was sent the results.Keith
