how do I clean a dirty utility transfer pump?

my transfer pump was used to pump water out of a basement. how do I clean that, so I can use it for sap again?

you can disasamble it clean it with bleach but make sure the gaskets are in good and tight and that everything gets put back in place just right

After teardown and clean-up put your cleaning solution in a tank(barrel) that you can pump from and discharge into, run a tank of gas. Rinse out, and pump clean water, rinse again and pump again till you feel ok about it.
Then do another teardown, clean-up and sanitize.
Should be be good to go.


Oh, of course new hoses, gaskets.
