Did about 20 buckets this year on my 2x4 evaporator. I have a few sections which I think would make life easier with tubing.

Having never done this, how do I learn about it?

Thanks,
Chris

I just put up tubing 2 years ago. I found this forum to be my best resource. Just remember, keep it tight and at least 5% slope. Good luck.

Most of my woods are 2-4% slope and even without my vac on it gravity feeds my tank (minus my ladder). I have heard up north where they are flat running .5 percent with a nice tight system.

Check out tubbing video's on ebay. Another source is the Sweetest Drip DVD.

Best resources are North American Maple Syrup Manual. Also there are many tubing seminars around at conferences and spring sales. Another thing that can help alot is look at another producers set up
good luck

Mine are loose and some go up hill. I got a little more than a quart of syrup from each tree this year. I dont pull them tight. that is on a vacuum though

Several years into tubing.
Yes tight, down hill at 5% grade, and dont get fancy, use drops as designed. Take some time to look at some system!
