well I have seen a gal at 45 so I would set my pricing like this
45 gal
23.5 1/2
12.75 QT
7.50 pint
no matter what the grade it sells all the same.

I have know people in the past to sell syrup at diff. prices due to grading.

I's still at:

gal - 45
1/2 gal - 25
qt - 15
pt - 8

same price all A grades.

but everybody tells me I'm too low. May raise prices if I make a short crop.

You want to see rediculous pricing go to the new york maple producers website and look at the prices they are selling syrup at. http://securestorefront.caltim.com/mapleweekend/shop/category.asp?catid=2
they are getting the same price for a half gallon you guys are selling your gallons for. They are way overpriced but it only helps me.

We went up to $50 for a gallon this year. Everything else is the same as 2010:

1/2 - $28
Qt - $18
Pt - $10
1/2 Pt - $8

We sell wholesale to a couple of local retailers at 20% off and they typically add a 35% markup.

I am going to be around 60 $ a gallon this year. Have not set anything in stone yet but I am going to do a little research.

$50/gal, $29/1/2 gal, $16 qt, $9/pt. All the same as 2010 except LY gal was $54. I sold out LY in poor year. This yr looks like I'll finally have product for the Christmas season. I've sold out every year early for the past 6 seasons on ever increasing production excepting 2010.

If you look closely at the prices on the NY site, it includes shipping .

My opinion is if it is selling then it isn't over priced, just saying

The customers know what our syrup is worth. Keep pricing up where it should be. I even have a repeating customer in Nebraska who keeps buying my syrup and pays shipping on top. He knows a good product. In fact I had to send him elsewhere last year after I sold out and he returned to me this year even though the one I sent him to is $3/gal less. He buys in 4 gal case lots.

shipping syrup is expensive because its heavy. if you shipping local those NY prices are high. but if you shipping cross country then they are ok. I shipped quart and pint via usps to Cali months ago cheapest I could find think it was 13.95.

As for prices its all about your location and have prices just close to the same as local farmstand etc. that has local syrup. tourist traps and specialty shops you expect to pay upwards of $75-$90 per gallon of syrup. its crazy!! the markup is huge. Round here unless you have a bunch of suckers and can get that much or your just a good sales person. $51/g, $32/ 1/2g , $18/Q, $10/P, $7/1/2p. I thought of raising prices a 1$ across the board but with economy what it is I decided against it... doesn't seem to be future in it either.

As of late I have been selling pints 2:1 over Quarts so my average price per gallon is well over $70 right now which is nice.
