I bought a wool cone filter for this year. I boiled it for about fifteen minuits and gently hand washed in clean hot water befor i used it .This filter seemed to keep shedding fuzz as long as i kept washing it. I used it one time this fall and It did not
seem to shed any fuzz in the syrup, but i'm not to shure about it.
Will it keep on shedding or will it stop after it is used some?

It will always shed a little when washing or when dry. It won't normally shed when running syrup thru it as the syrup bonds it all together! :D

Well, the wool filter used this year shed some fibers into my syrup. I noticed some of the fibers in a few of my small glass bottels. You can see the fibers when you hold one of these bottle up to the light. I added a prefilter after the wool filter, that fixed the problem.

and occasionally got some fuzz in my bottles. I like your idea of using a prefilter after the main filter to get the fuzz.
