We made 152gal. on 400 taps. Last year 85gal on 400. Very good year. It really did not matter if you tapped early or late everyone should have done well. I cannot remember a year that we made so much syrup on snow, no hot days in the sugarhouse and virtually no insects in the sugarhouse. Our average was .308gal. per tap. Maybe we will have some syrup to sell at Christmas instead of being sold out in Sept.

I made a little shy of 18 gallon this year compared to 7 last year. I started out with 50 taps but pulled 10 about 3 weeks in. I did keep records of each boil so can figure this out. Ok, after checking my records I made .382 gal/tap. Almost all was light to medium.

2010- Made 1 1/2 pints on 4 homemade taps and didnt know what to do when the weather made the trees stop for a day or two. Ounces per tap.
2011- Found this website- Made 2 gallons on 9 taps (6 yard trees), made barrell evaporator to go with the propane burner. .22 gal per tap I think.
Figured out what to do with my woods property, turn it into a sugarbush.Going to build a oil tank evap and buy a real pan. Learned more than I thought I could about something new. Bought her a Rhino to haul sap next year. More plans than I have time for.
2012 Lord willing- shooting for 30- 50 taps depending If I can clear enough wood to get to the trees.
