I can't keep up with the sap flow. The past 2 days alone I've collected over 200 gallons. I have run out of storage. After I looked at my deep freeze and thought I should just fill that sucker up and freeze a huge block, maybe it's time to pull the taps.

I did get my bulk tank to simmer/lightly boil, getting a strong 6 gph evap. rate. Alot better than the 3.5 with the turkey fryers.

I know for next year I have to improve on sap storage!

Cool. South Dakota has Maple trees?

Forget the extra storage and get a bigger evaporator. I (almost) always boil up all my sap within 24 hours.

Well the heavy clay soil helps them stay upright!:lol: I tap all Silvers.
The 2 taps a sibling...well my parents had 7 kids. My season when I was growing up was dictated by the first one to spill on Mom's kitchen floor! You wanna see mad:o!

Ya' that's the beauty of praire sugaring. They tease you along for the first 2 weeks, then the big flow comes. Oh well what are you going to do?

Actually got that bulk tank to boil. Getting about 6 to 7 gph evap. better than the 1.5 in turkey pots. :-|
