I am about to start building a new oil fired arch for my D&G Sportsman pans they are 18"x3' and 18"x 4' does anyone know how deep the arch should be (is there a width to depth formula anyone knows) if its 18" wide my current arch is only about 14" deep and the burner nozzel is almost resting on the bottom which sometimes gives me creosote buildup around the end of the burner.
Thanks
Greg

somewhere on here I found a link to high efficiency oil fired arch designs.
while you must have no less than the minimum combustion chamber area that the burner manufacturer recommends for that burner. it also stated that you should have no less than 12 inches from the bottom floor of the arch up to the bottom of the burn (as I recall)

I have a .6 gallon nozzle on my oil gun, oil tank evaporator. I left 3'' from the bottom of the gun and 13" to the bottom of my pans and 18" in front of the nozzle. On a flat pan 27"x 24" pan I evaporate 10 gallons a hour. I found the information on how big my chamber box needed to be on this site. Good luck
