french press as filter?

Has anyone ever tried filtering in a french press? I have a couple of quarts of cloudy stuff that I would like to filter and was thinking about using my french press. It has a pretty fine filter and I can apply pressure hmmm.

I use one several times a day but I never considered it for filtering syrup.
But I do know my french press lets fines into the coffee at the best of times.
one of the things that makes a french press work is you grind your coffee course. If you try an esspresso grind in your french press it plugs nearly instantly. filter aid is much finer than an espresso grind.
