Hydrothermometer

Hey guys OK I searched a round and I cannot seem to find what I am looking for.

I have a hydrotherm that does not have any numbers on it. I was also told that whent he hydrotherm "floats" at the same level the red "mecrury" is then it is syrup? so basically the read level is where the red rises to. I do not think this is correct, which is why I alway went more by temperature. wll this year I want to be sure. can someone tell me how to correctly use this device?

OK I found another post on the board later. i will try these recomondations in the post. I think I may have been outside the range for the temperature

Glad you founf your info. I have both a hydrotherm and a hydrometer. I use the hydrometer if I am testing boiling syrup because it is fast. I use the hydrotherm if I am testing at less than boiling temperature because it adjusts... but it is slow.
